Photograph captured in the courtyard of an old style terrace house in the inner suburbs of Sydney. The building is around 110 years old.
I loved the character this place offered with so many varying textures. The weathered brick wall had been painted white obviously a very long time ago, with the paint now parched and peeling, baring the texture of the mottled and speckled bricks. The bench seats were heavy, chunky and old also weathered from exposure to the elements.
I chose to use selective color on this image showing the nice contrast of the new looking red umbrella against the varying textures of its old surroundings.
