Thanks Carol. I have to agree that the 70's does seem like yesterday! My sister was there for a few years down in the valley... very moist and humid and backing onto a creek, one of the estuaries of the Bellinger River I think. Sometimes drought, sometimes flood. She is now in Tewinga on a hill near Macksville. Glad I could help you envisage the current scene at Narrabeen Lakes.

It is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Was your sister here for long? Thanks for the info regarding Narrabeen Lake. It was a good holiday I had there with family friends. Would have been back in the 70s...just a year or two ago!

Thank you very much for your comment Carol. This particular day, it was an extremely low tide. Normally the water would be right up to the left side of the photo, and the middle patch of sand at high tide can be completely covered. The caravan park where you stayed is on the opposite side of the road/bridge, and there is also a fairly large expanse of water there too. It is a wonderful place to get photos. I have a few more photos on FAA also taken here, many of the jetty out to the ocean and the pool area. I think most of them are in my "Beach Themes and Shells" Gallery. Bellingen is also beautiful. My sister used to live there.

You work is very good Kaye. Just a question about this image of Narrabeen Lake. It is a long, long, long (wont say how many longs lol) time since I stayed in the caravan park there by the beach, but the lake was a lot larger. Is this all it is now or am I remembering a differnet part of the lake?
